artists’ residencies

The aim of the residency program is to create a space in which new work can emerge; through experimentation, collaboration and conversation.

Being on the boat invites artists to occupy a space on the edge:  The boat floats on the boundary between land and water, urban and maritime life.  The barge can cast off from the land and become an island on the water, or moor securely and form a bridge between land and water.  Thus the context of the residency changes.  This mobility, combined with the unusual living and working spaces aboard offers shifting perspectives and views.

To propose a residency, contact Nicola Gear at lochnessbarge@gmail.com for more information.
